While it may seem a little strange to think about spring and summer events in January, it’s actually the best time to plan for custom apparel. It’s a great time to think about warm weather marketing, networking events and summer activities. And you may also consider summer uniforms for your staff. You’ll want to take advantage of as many spring and summer marketing events as possible.
Here are some steps to take now to ensure that you have plenty marketing materials to leave behind for maximum exposure.

Other marketing opportunities include holidays, sales presentations, training and workshops you’ll host or attend. Include sponsor advertising, items for fundraising programs, awards for recognition programs, safety incentives, summer uniforms for your employees and more. Once you have a list, prioritize it by events that are most important to non essential events that you would like to attend. Then move on to step 2.
Step 2: Think of things like (1) what you plan to accomplish (exposure, advertising, uniforms, etc.) with your promo items (2) if you’re ordering apparel, the shirt styles, sizes, colors and textures that will work best for your event (3) what the recipients will be doing while wearing your shirts or using any other giveaway items and (4) The image you would like to project to your target audience. How do you want the recipients of your shirts to feel when they wear them? Will they be comfortable and enthusiastic about wearing your apparel? Choose items with the quality that you want reflected your company.
Step 3: You may not think of all your events in one sitting. Add events as they become available throughout the year.
When placing an order for custom apparel you should allow for the time it takes to place the imprint on your items (production time) which makes planning even more important. Standard production can range from 7-10 business days. You should also plan time to distribute items to your recipients. If you are planning to give them out for an event, it’s best to make your purchase at least four weeks in advance. Rush orders are also an option, but the charges for expedited service can add up quickly for production and shipping.
